Drivers can expect slight delays Tuesday, Dec. 4, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. as workers activate new traffic signals at the intersection of North Central Street and Broadway.
Knoxville Police Department officers will assist and maintain traffic flow through the intersection.
Traffic signals are changing from being hung on span wire to being mounted on mast arm poles.
Replacement of the traffic signals is part of the North Central Street Streetscape Project, which began in January 2018 and has progressed to the intersection at Baxter Avenue. The construction phase of the project is approximately 70 percent complete, and is targeted for completion in March 2019.
