Dr. Jim McIntyre, Superintendent of the Knox County Schools, recently announced the 2014-15 members of the Teacher Advisory Committee (TAC). In 2013, then-Chair Lynne Fugate (District 4) and Dr. McIntyre convened a group of educators from across the Knox County Schools to serve as an important voice in the educational decision-making process and to share insights, suggestions and perspectives on critical education issues. The inaugural group put forth 11 actions steps that were immediately adopted to address concerns voiced by teachers in the Knox County Schools.
The Knox County Schools received applications or nominations from more than 100 educators, and six members of last year’s committee chose the membership of the 2014-15 TAC.
“Six members of last year’s committee put forth tremendous effort and dedicated many hours in selecting the membership for this year,” said Dr. McIntyre. “I look forward to continuing this important structure and benefitting from the valuable perspectives of these remarkable educators.”
